Finding her voice through art, Azar began her carrier as an actress at Simorgh in 2010. Using the Forum theater technique she stood in front of mixed audiences and advocated girls and women's rights. In 2012, Azar participated in the Black Sea International Theater Festival in Trabzon, as well as the Women Playwrights International Conference in Stockholm, performing Masks Under The Burka. Azar was an active member of Negar Theater, appearing in short films as well as stage productions. On the occasion of the New Year’s celebration the Migration and Asylum Office in Thuringia created the postcard design project “My Dream Afghanistan“ showing images of Afghan girls' dreams, in order to bring awareness to the current sociopolitical situation in Afghanistan. Azar designed the postcard - A Girl Dancing Before the Buddha - and attended the contest.
